Without the investment of record labels and propagandising mainstream media, local indie bands are hardly known by the public. However, there are
a lot of excellent local musicians who create music in a variety of genres. In OFTEN 2010, nine bands will voice out their creativity, including
Chochukmo, Erik Piece, In Love and Pain!, innisfallen, Juicyning, Modern Children, Noughts and Exes, Qiu Hong and Velvette Vendetta. Through their live performances, they hope to let the public know more about real music in Hong Kong.
沒有財雄勢大的唱片公司注資及主流媒體吹捧的本地獨立樂隊一向鮮為大眾認識，但是香港有很多優秀的音樂人，音樂類型也非常多元，這次有9對樂隊共同發聲，包括
觸執毛(Chochukmo), Erik Piece, In Love And Pain, Innisfallen, 朱凌凌(Juicyning), Modern Children, Noughts and Exes, 秋紅(Qiu Hong)和Velvette Vendetta
在現場連番熱唱，藉此大家可認識香港真正本地的音樂力量和活力。
Chochukmo is a 4-piece indie rock band based in Hong Kong, China with Jan Curious on Vocal, Mike Orange on Guitar and Synthesizer, Les Hunter on Guitar, and Kitty Trouble on Drums. The members of the band have started contributing their talents and innovations into their music since the summer of 2005, with the current inventive line-up coming into their own in the spring of 2008. With the chemistry triggered by different musical interests and thoughts, Chochukmo has been claimed to have created a unique style of their own. With the playful minds and the courages of pushing to limits, they experiment rock music with different elements from jazz to punk, from bossa nova to reggae. The band is known for their passionate and energetic live performance, and the richness in elements delivered in their music.
Chochukmo has been participating in various music festivals happening in the city, namely Jam Fest, Rockraiser Festival, as well as the well-acclaimed Clockenflap as the local headline. Except local showcases, Chochukmo has been touring to Manila, Philippines and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, receiving positive reviews from the local media.
Chochukmo has been selected as the “Top 20 Hong Kong Musicians” by Time Out Hong Kong in 2008, has been described as “the most charismatic band to have emerged in southern China in recent years” by TIME Magazine, and has been included in “The Hong Kong Hot List: 20 people to watch” by CNNGo in 2009.
觸執毛(Chochukmo)是來自香港的獨立搖滾樂隊。自2005年夏天，各成員將各自的創意投進觸執毛，並在08年初組成了現在的陣容。各成員對音樂的不同喜好和天馬行空的想法，造就了觸執毛愛玩和大膽創新的音樂風格。抱著「要與眾不同」的想法，觸執毛經常把不同的音樂元素如爵士、巴薩諾瓦、瘋克、朋克等混進搖滾，喜愛把毫無關係的東西拼揍起來，四人快樂地做他們的搖滾實驗。
充滿熱情的現場演出，以及豐富的音樂元素，觸執毛在各媒體上一直獲得不少正面評價，曾被邀請到亞洲的不同地方參與演出，包括香港的JAMFEST音樂節、Clockenflap音樂節(在Clockenflap 2009被列為本地Headline樂隊)、菲律賓的 A*FEST 亞洲獨立音樂節、以及馬來西亞巡演等。

Having gained much notoriety for his brutal stage acts as one of the frontmen of the local group innisfallen, Erik Piece finally decides to flip over a new page to his music journey – starting a side-project to dictate all the songwriting process – with just a guitar and his voice. In Love And Pain!, the alternative music journey started in Jun 2007. When Kid, Henry, Satva and Marvin decided to make the noise in their heads come true.

當Kid, Henry, Satva 和Marvin決定將他們心中的聲音化成歌曲，In Love And Pain!，來自香港的另類搖滾樂隊，於2007 年組成．沒有根據固有的風格，他們四人開始揉合不同的方向和想法，不停地創作他們的音樂．差不多每星期也演出的In Love And Pain! 亦成爲了香港其中一隊最受歡迎的獨立樂隊．

innisfallen, the famous Irish island, becomes the name of the nearly-forgotten band. After REALlusion, their first album release in August 2007, their inspiration has been on a long hiatus. Has the band's inspiration been washed away by reality? Erik Piece, the singer and guitarist, does not think so. He tried an instrument he has never made friends with - the piano, hoping to bring some sentiment which guitar sounds cannot achieve. It worked - some new songs are out, with the collaboration of Sam Tsang (guitars), Mike Lam (bass/vocals) and Cheong Ho (drums). It will be the new interpretation of their views on life; it will be the new innisfallen.
Modern Children is a Hong Kong indie band formed by Chih (Guitar/ Bass), Kenneth Tsang (Vocal/ Guitar/ Bass), Jimmy Cheung (Guitar/ Bass) and Tony Leung (Percussion) in 2006. “Colourful” is the word to describe Modern Children. They are colourful, because they play in different music styles and always go on two extremes: indie pop and post rock; they are colourful, because they fill their songs with all kinds of sounds by using wide range of instruments, from guitars and bass to rainbow bells and accordion; they are colourful, because they can be sweet as honey, and in the meantime, they can also rock like a bee. Recently Modern Children released their debut single Mongolia Song, which can be downloaded from their official website for free.
Modern Children 是一隊來自香港的四人獨立樂隊，成員包括Kenneth(主音/結他/貝斯/琴)、Jimmy(結他/貝斯)、Chih(結他/貝斯)和Tony(鼓)。 如果用一個詞形容Modern Children，最適合不過的詞語便是「繽紛」了。他們「繽紛」，因為他們喜歡玩不同類型的音樂，尤其以另類流行和後搖滾音樂為主；他們的演出「繽紛」，有別於傳統搖滾樂隊，除了以結他和低音結他演奏外，亦會以不同的樂器演奏，如手風琴、Rainbowbells，而間或加上電子音樂元素，力求得到 不同的聲音，他們的演出保證目不暇給；他們的音樂「繽紛」，可以溫婉甜美、又使人血脈賁張。Modern Children 最近於網絡上發表了最新的單曲「蒙古」，可於他們的官方網頁免費下載。
noughts and exes began in 2007 as a little side project to help fill idle time... it quickly developed into a full band lineup and released their debut album "act one, scene one".
Two years later the two lead song writers, Joshua Wong and Gideon So, came together with a new vision and sound for the band... opting to rebuild the band from ground up, they stripped away all other noises and focused on a more intimate and
natural sound. Beginning with only piano, vocals and acoustic guitar, they began to mold what would soon become the new sound of noughts and exes.
With the addition of Kerrie-Anne on vocals, glockenspiel and percussion, and Alex Bedwell on drums, they began to sculpt a sound that was in some way unique or distinct... but it wasn't until the addition of Marianne Bunton on cello that their flavour started to really settle.
now, from 5piece, to 2piece to 5piece again, noughts and exes have found a body of musicians and songs that they can build something truly beautiful with.
We formed in May 2002, fate bring us together, the band name is inspired by a title of a book; "QIU"( 秋 ) is "autumn" in Chinese, the season full of emotions and thoughts. "HONG"( 紅 ), "red" in Chinese, represents the hot blood inside us, and also the color of the fire, warm and bright, just like the characters of us and our music attitude.
We hope all of you are ready for the voice from our heart, hope our melodies can touch you. We are shouting to keep our blood flowing, which can keep us alive. Nothing can change our eager devotion to music.
The thing we love most, is MUSIC, the thing that we can't live without, is MUSIC.
Velvette Vendetta, formed in the summer of 2006, since then the band has never stopped impressing crowds with their energetic and infectious live performances. The band strives to deliver both audio and visual pleasure to the audience. That has been the standard of Velvette Vendetta’s performing art from the very beginning. Even with multiple movements within songs, the music is relatively simple to keep the grunge flavor which enables the band to deliver intensive performance on stage. With their hard works and their mesmerizing live performance, the band had their two tracks featured in the compilation CD released by the infamous HK indie show organizer, The Underground HK. The band also got their first taste of oversea gigging experience in Manila,Philippines during Spring 2009. In August 2009, the band will march to Singapore to perform in one of the biggest rock festival in Asia, Baybeats.
憑著VELVETTE VENDETTA獨特的現場演出及努力，獲本地有名的香港獨立音樂表演籌辦者The Underground HK垂青，獲邀在其合輯大碟上灌錄兩曲 : Snow Storm 及Very Pale Rose。樂隊更在09的春季獲邀至馬尼拉(菲律賓)參與當地獨立樂隊的音樂節，初嘗海外公演的興奮。
兩年多來,VELVETTE VENDETTA成功的從歌詞、編曲、形象設計及處事作風注入”透露美麗事物的殘酷真實面”的概念，並按此完成樂隊的處女EP"Beautiful Vision Distorted"，於09年5月1日在其慶典中發佈。
VELVETTEVENDETTA的樂曲繼承古典音樂的體裁，以多變的樂章編排及戲劇性的轉變建築多元的音樂架構，以上述元素在音樂裏表現生命中不能預料的轉捩。亦正正乎合EP當中的5首單曲“Too Late”, “A Gloomy Day For A Funeral Of My Friend”,“Night Before The Snow Storm”, “La Chanson de Départ” & “A Very Pale Rose”以浪漫、死亡、宗教衝突、政治和社會事件等詭秘的題目, 歇示現實背後的真義。
Into The Fair 是由本地樂隊破天荒的共同創作，視頻裡錄載了部份練習片段，如想欣賞整首歌曲，OFTEN 2010星期六數碼港親身來感受這份撼動及感動吧!
